PURPOSE:To improve the shape of a groove for a vibrating body and to shorten the working time of the vibrating body by a method wherein a groove formation member in which at least two circular cutting members have been installed side by side by keeping a prescribed gap is moved to the radial direction of a torus-shaped body, a holding stand is turned by a prescribed angle and the position of the torus-shaped body with reference to the groove formation member is set. CONSTITUTION:A groove formation member 30 is provided with one pair of cutting members 31, 32 such as whetstones or the like which can grind or cut a member and which have been formed to be nearly disk-shaped. A spacer is installed between the cutting members 31, 32 in order to ensure a proper gap and to arrange both in parallel. A vibrating body 20 is mounted on a holding stand 41, and it is fixed by a tightening utensil 42. The holding stand 41 is supported so as to be rotatable. The groove formation member 30 is arranged in such a way that its shaft is set in a direction perpendicular to the shaft direction of the vibrating body 20. It is supported in such a way that it can be turned to the direction of A, that it can be brought close to, and separated from, the vibrating body 20 in the direction of B and that it can be moved to the radial direction of the vibrating body 20 in the direction of C. |
