PURPOSE:To obtain a film, containing a specific ultraviolet ray absorber in a cellulose triacetate, excellent in light resistance, light transmitting properties and slipperiness and useful as a protecting film, etc., for a polarizing plate of a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION:This film contains an ultraviolet ray absorber expressed by the formula [R<1> is H or a (phenyl-substituted) 1-5C alkyl; R<2> is phenyl or a (1-10C acyloxy-substituted) 1-5C alkyl; X is H or halogen] in a cellulose triacetate. In this film, the cellulose triacetate has 50-70% combined acetyl content and the weight-average molecular weight is 70000-120000. The plasticizer content is preferably 0-20wt.% in the film and the content of the ultraviolet ray absorber is preferably 1-40wt.% in the film. |
