In the prior art a retractable roof structure is formed by two parts which can be pivoted with respect to each other and in one of which the rear window is integrated. In the retracted state of the roof structure the central region formed by the rear window occupies a large space in the luggage compartment. In order to increase the size of the available luggage space when the roof structure is retracted, the central region is arranged on the motor vehicle separately from the roof structure.
