The invention related to a sealing means which is used between two relatively sliping parts. In the prior arts there is some leakage gaps at the open part of the piston ring of the internal-combustion piston engines, which results in the unsatisfactory sealing effect, the present invention provided a series of improved multi-steps gap seal structure and a sealing pin means at the ends of the ring, it prevented the ends from leaking, the service life of the sealing ring was prolonged for more than 5 times and the gasoline consumed was reduced by about 8 %, the invention also provided a method of producing the improved piston ring.
