A development of the wheel set is disclosed, in which the stiff, heavy and highly stressed wheelset axle is replaced by parallel spring leaf guiding rods (3, 4) or other appropriate constructions. The elastic suspension arrangement of parallel, opposite wheels (1) allows position errors of the rails to be directly compensated independently for each wheel. In addition, the spring leaf guiding rods (3, 4) take over functions of the running gear, such as distributing the load and taking up longitudinal and transverse forces. Since the components are separated in space, elastically designed and fulfil several functions, the new type of spring wheel pair has small non-suspended masses, is extremely light and versatile. |
