An arrangement for controlling a hydraulic drive (10) has a directional control valve (15) which is connected to a pressure-fluid pump (11; 50) via a feed line (17), and a safety shut-off valve (18) which can be triggered by an operating valve (19) and is arranged in the feed line (17) of the pressure fluid between the pump (11; 50) and the directional control valve (15) and can be changed over from a normally open position into a closed position in order to thereby block the fluid connection between the pump (11; 50) and the directional control valve (15) in emergency situations. A by-pass valve (16) for short-circuiting at least a portion of the pump flow to the supply reservoir or, as an alternative, setting means (51) for the delivery quantity of a pump (50) with variable delivery quantity can be actuated by a load-dependent pressure which can be tapped at a load-dependent connection (15e) at the directional control valve (15), in which case the load-dependent pressure to the supply reservoir (12) can be discharged via the shut-off valve (18) when the latter is shifted into its closed position. <IMAGE>
