A clamping mechanism for an injection-moulding machine, having a hydraulically actuable piston-cylinder unit, by means of which two partial strokes can be carried out, of which the first can be completed more quickly by the clamping piston (7) than the second. The piston-cylinder unit has a cylinder space (11) into which the clamping piston protrudes and in which the clamping pressure is built up by means of a pump (13). Arranged in the cylinder space (11) is an adjusting piston (20), which can be actuated from both sides and which limits the stroke of the clamping piston (7). <IMAGE>
