In the case of a regulating device for a compressor motor (1) of a refrigerator and/or freezer, it is intended to achieve continuous regulation of the cooling power in a simple manner. The motor (1) can be connected to the mains either directly or via a controllable converter (8) by means of a changeover switch (5).
