To connect a subscriber via a bus interface to a two-wire line bus (3), connection means have hitherto been included in the disentanglement of component groups. As opposed to this, a user-friendly interface module (1) is produced which permits a simple structural connection to a standardised bus interface, effective fault clearance and a captive termination of the two-wire line bus. To achieve this, a housing (8) is provided for the interface module (1) with an externally located earth connection terminal (11) and four connections (A1, A2, B1, B2) and with a resistive divider (26) to terminate the two-wire line bus (3) and a multiple-wire cable (9) via which the communication, e.g. with a microprocessor (33), is set up.
