A brake device for a conveyor has two load supporting conveyor rollers 18, 19 rotatable to enable a load thereon to be transported along the conveyor. The load supporting rollers 18, 19 are movable transversely to their axes of rotation by a load passing thereover against a resilient bias (springs 27) into engagement with a brake roller 22 adapted to brake rotation of the conveyor rollers 18, 19. The braking force exerted by the brake roller 22 is dependent at least in part upon the weight of the load on the conveyor rollers 18, 19. <IMAGE> |
