PURPOSE: A device for preventing sleep driving is provided to awaken a driver falling asleep during a travel by lightly hitting the rear part of the head of the driver via a vibration unit installed in a headrest. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing sleep driving comprises a vibration unit and a control unit. The vibration unit consists of a plate(30) installed on the front face of a headrest(100), a first and a second actuators(10,20) installed in the headrest and constituted of electromagnets(11,21) and pistons(12,22), locking levers(31) placed in the first and second actuators, and locking electromagnets(32). The control unit consists of a microphone(40), an electronic control unit(41), a register(42), a transistor(43), and a switch(44). If a driver feels sleepy, the locking levers are unlocked and the plate connected to the piston rods moves forward by springs(13,23). The plate lightly hits the rear part of the driver.
