摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the smoothability for speed change by selectively using under specified conditions a speed stage that is set according to a normal shift pattern and in response to the vehicle speed and throttle opening and a speed stage that is set by fuzzy inference according to the driver's intention, road condition, etc. CONSTITUTION:An ECU 6 for controlling a speed-stage switching mechanism 4 and an engaging-strength adjusting means 5 in order to establish a desired stage of speed comprises a speed-stage selecting means 7 for selecting an optimum speed stage, a switching instruction means 8 for giving an instruction to cause the performance of the speed-stage switching operation, and an engaging-strength control means 9 for controlling the engaging-strength adjusting means 5. The speed-stage selecting means 7 has a first speed-stage setting section 7A for setting an optimum speed stage SA according to a normal shift pattern and in response to the vehicle speed and throttle opening degree, and a second speed-stage setting section 7B for setting an optimum speed stage SB by fuzzy inference according to the operational condition of vehicle, driver's intention, and road condition, whereby when the speed stage SB is lower than the speed stage SA, the speed stage SB is selected and outputted.
