摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having extremely large information recording capacity by forming a land area between adjacent grooves concentrically or helically provided in a manner that the land is wider than the groove width, and recording information in several channels parallely in the land while recording synchronizing information in the grooves which synchronizes with the recorded information. CONSTITUTION:On the one surface of a disk substrate 1, for example, helical groove 2 is formed in a manner that a land 3 between adjacent grooves 2, 2 where pits P are formed for recording information. The land 3 is twice or more wider than the groove 2 width and has several channels C1, C2, C3,... C8 to record information parallely. Also header information such as track address and sector address is recorded while information to synchronize with the recorded information in the land 3 is recorded in the groove 2. Thereby, the information recording density in the circumference direction of the land can be increased with radial density.
