PURPOSE:To prevent the position deflection and facilitate the absorbing of an impact by installing a cover body which covers the part formed in the front surface part of an instrument panel in an opened port part, on an air bag case, so as to be opened and closed, and forming a space part for absorbing impact between a pad member and the upper part of an air bag case. CONSTITUTION:A pad member 66 is installed on an instrument panel 50 side. Since the pad member 66 can be installed with high precision for the instrument panel 50, the appearance can be improved. Further, when a driver does not take a seat belt and the driver's head shifts forward and tends to collide with the pad member 66, if the deceleration speed in the degree where an air bag 56 can not be developed is applied on a vehicle, the impact energy can be absorbed by the elastic deformation of the pad member 66, if the impact is small, while if the impact is large, the impact energy can be absorbed by the nonelastic deformation of the pad member 66 into a space part 74 for absorbing impact. |
