PURPOSE:To obtain printing matters that are higher in quality and more excellent in legibility than those printed by conventional method by a method wherein adjustment is made to widen sign pitches of signs sent from sign pattern data, and printing is made on printing pattern data that are produced with justification applied. CONSTITUTION:In execution of printing, character data for one line for the line to be printed and a character that comes first on the next line are received, and the received are sent to a character pattern producing program for the printing program. Then, necessity of adjustment on the line-end is judged in the character pattern producing program by checking the number of characters for one line. Namely, printing pattern data are produced with character pitches widened or narrowed, depending on situation wherein the number of characters in the line concerned is smaller or larger by one character than the number of character for one line in document control information, or the printing pattern data are produced, as occasion demands, with deletion made in the character patterns or with character pitches unchanged. Then, the printing pattern data are outputted to a printing apparatus. |
