NONVOLATILE SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORY AND ITS OPERATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve shortening of the time for processing the automatic dele tion, by conducting deletion processing of small capacity memory block properly. SOLUTION: A memory part of a block 4 consists of a plurality of small capacity memory block which is made up of memory array arranged in a matrix state with a plurality of memory cells of nonvolatile transistor and a large capacity memory block which is made up of memory array arranged in matrix state with a plurality of memory cells of nonvolatile transistor. A memory means provided with the small capacity memory block and large capacity memory block respectively, can read and keep the all contents of memory cells made up of nonvolatile transistors for discriminating write/delete capability showing whether each blocks are able to be written/deleted or not. According to the memory kept in the memory means, a plurality of small capacity memory blocks which can be deleted in the memory part of memory block 4 are deleted at the same time.
