The invention relates to a commutation brush (1) which comprises a wearing part (2) and a head part (3), the head part (3) having a bearing surface (4) for a pressure element and an electrical connection via braids (7, 8) which are passed out. A longer service life, but without any greater physical space being required for this purpose in the region of the brush apparatus, is achieved in that at least one side of the bearing surface (4) has at least one connecting tab (5, 6) for holding at least one live braid (7, 8) by means of its end on the brush side. <IMAGE>
