A device for adjusting the curvature of a flexible element (4) for supporting the lumbar and/or lordotic region in the back-rest of a chair has a curving arrangement containing a spring and an actuating arrangement. The spring (20, 35; 21, 38) is arranged in the force transmission path for enabling the curvature adjustment. Preferably, a spring (20, 35) is arranged between one end of the supporting element (4) and the force transmission part of the curving arrangement and/or a spring (21, 38) is arranged at the free end of the force transmission part of the curving arrangement behind the actuating arrangement. |
