Method for determining a noise signal from total noise

A method is described for determining a noise signal, in particular the signal of a noise-emitting part of an internal combustion engine. In a first method step, by means of a sensor, a total noise signal is acquired and stored. In a second method step, the part which is generating the noise signal is removed and the noise of the remaining sound source is acquired by means of a sensor and stored, the two stored signals being subsequently compared with each other in a phase-related manner and, by forming a vectorial difference, the interesting noise of the noise-emitting part being determined and indicated.
