Process for dyeing cellulosic textile materials with vat dyes or sulphur dyes by using iron(II) compounds as reductants and electrochemical reduction of the reductant oxidised in the course of dyeing by using as iron(II) compound iron(II) complex salts with aliphatic hydroxy compounds which contain at least two coordination-capable hydroxyl groups as complexing agents.
