A blood vessel thickening inhibitor and a smooth muscle fiber migration inhibitor each containing as the active ingredient a 7-thiaprostaglandin E1 compound represented by general formula (I) and useful for inhibiting blood vessel thickening caused mainly by the migration or proliferation of vascular smooth muscle fibers after angioplasty, arterial bypass operation, and so forth, wherein R<1> represents hydrogen, etc.; R<2> represents hydrogen, etc.; R<3> represents linear or branched alkyl, etc.; n represents 0 or 1; and symbol * represents an asymmetric carbon atom.
