The invention provides an information retrieval system comprising: a) a dedicated single switch (4); b) receiving means (b) responsive to manual actuation of said single switch to receive coded information; c) means for decoding the coded information (3), and; d) means for presenting the decoded information (9) to a user. Thus, by actuation of a single switch, the information, for example advertising information, is received, decoded and presented to the user.
