A hinge comprises a first member having first and second parallel plates 13, 14 spaced apart and joined together adjacent one end of each plate by a third plate 15. A second member of the hinge comprises a plate 16 which is pivotally connected to the first part via a hinge pin 21. The parallel plates 13, 14 are arranged to located either side of a door mounted by the hinge. The second part may comprise a second plate 17 joined at right angles to the first plate 16 and a third plate 18, which may be a separate plate, which locates at right angles to the second plate 17, parallel and opposite to the first plate 16. Threaded ferrules 20 may be provided in two of the plates 13, 18 which receive mounting bolts fitted through holes in opposing plates 14, 16.
