The improvements are applicable to those systems for purifying vapours from heating, industry, etc., and they are based on arranging, coupled to the exit from the chimney, a chamber for scrubbing gases with a top outlet for the clean gases. Inside said chamber are mounted frustoconical discs which are separated from one another in different planes, in correspondence with which there are tubular rings with holes for spraying water from a pipe which supplies the aforesaid rings, in such a manner that the sprayed water slides via the rings and water curtains are formed when the water collides forcibly against the respective casing, the gas exiting the chimney having to pass forcibly through said curtains, this giving rise to its purification or cleaning. <IMAGE>
