The invention relates to a rail vehicle provided with at least one bogie which comprises bolsters (6) generally distributed on either side of the longitudinal mid-plane of the bogie, and each bolster comprises a shoe (7) which, carried by one of the two elements which are the chassis of the vehicle and the frame of the bogie, cooperates by friction with a bearing surface (8) integral with the other element, and this shoe (7) is associated with the element carrying it by at least one elastic means (9). It is characterised in that the bolsters are offset towards the outside of the frame of the bogie in relation to the sole bars of the frame of the bogie, and for this purpose the longitudinal and outer sides of the frame of the bogie carry a plate (10), on which bears one of the components which are the bearing surface (8) and the bolster (6). <IMAGE>
