The invention consists in a device for removing a tyre 6 from a wheel rim 5 including a clamping device 4 for holding and rotating a wheel rim 5 of a wheel and a hook 21 for catching behind the bead 25 of a tyre 6 and lifting it up over the crown (ring) of the wheel rim. According to the invention, the device includes pressing means 7-12 which are provided diametrically opposite the hook 21, it being possible for the said means to be moved and pressed laterally against the tyre 6.
