摘要

PURPOSE:To provide excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics even at a deep discharge depth by using a chevrel phase compound of a specific element. CONSTITUTION:When part of the sulfur element of a chevrel phase compound is substituted with the other chalcogen element or halogen element, the electron state or the geometrical position of the metal element existing at the void position among Mo6S8 clusters, and the metal element at this position is stabilized. A positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery made of a chevrel phase compound having the same high energy density as that of the conventional chevrel phase sulfide and exerting very excellent performance on the cycle characteristics at a deep discharge depth is obtained.
