PURPOSE: To obtain a fiber communication system of wavelength-divided multiplexed light, which is provided with a satisfactory wavelength stabilizing laser. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a multi-segment DBR laser 10 and a feedback means 26 controlling its laser wavelength and uses an optical fiber 14 with the in-line refractive index grid 21 of the reference wavelength element. An attached lobe part damaging conventional cold start ability exists in addition to a desired main lobe part in the transmitting spector of this grid. In order to overcome this, a feedback loop, which is provided with a current supply means where the wavelength of this laser output 11 is the function of a current IB flowing through a Bragg section and temperature changing means 25, 17 and 16 changing this laser temperature in response to the change of a wavelength, is used. Cold start is made possible by using a reference wavelength element with a comparatively large main minimum part.
