<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to mold a thin disk obtd. by cold compression molding of light alloy powder to a shape approximate to the final shape and to decrease cutting allowances by forging this thin disk while heating the disk within a hermetically closed metal mold. CONSTITUTION:The powder light alloy to be used is made of a compsn. consisting of 15 to 35wt.% Si, 0.5 to 6wt.% Cu, 0.3 to 5.0wt.% Mg and the balance aluminum. The raw material having the compsn. described above is put into a crucible 40 and is melted by heating. The molten aluminum alloy is led out of a nozzle 41 at the bottom end of the crucible 40 and is blown off by an inert gas, by which the alloy powder is obtd. The resulted alloy powder is packed into a rubber container 45 and this container 45 is housed into a steel pressure vessel 46. Water is injected into the vessel from an injection port 47 and the inside of the vessel 46 is pressurized, by which the powder is cold compression molded and the thin disk 50 is obtd. The disk 50 is then arranged on a bottom plate 52 of the metal mold 51 for forging and is heated. The disk 50 arranged on the bottom plate 52 is pressurized by a punch 54 disposed at the front end of a rod 53, by which the closed die forging is executed.</p> |
