The bit monitoring circuit that detects the hardware error of circuit corresponding to the mapping/unmapping path by comparing the periodic data, and provides the method for comparing the bit unit in the stable state, is provided. The system monitors the path that maps/unmaps the asynchronous DS1 dependent signal into VC12 multi-frame by the time division method. The system includes a VC21 mapping block (100) connected to a selecting circuit (205), a selecting circuit (204) connected to a VC12 comparison mapping block (201), a selecting circuit (206) connecting the VC12 comparison mapping block (201) to a comparison block (202) and timer (203) connected to the selecting circuit (204,205,206).
