Known wall, ceiling or roof elements essentially comprise an infilled frame structure with a lightweight heat-insulating layer located between coverings on both sides. In order to achieve favourable sound-insulating properties and masses which are capable of storage, additional heavy shells are fitted. These novel elements are intended to permit a high load-bearing capacity and, between the coverings, the combination of insulating materials with different properties and are intended to be versatile. The planar and parallel hip surfaces (13) of a folded-plate structure (1) comprising wooden boards or folded-plate mouldings made up of derived timber products have a covering (4, 5) adhesively bonded to them on one or both sides and form a load-bearing structure which permits large free bracing lengths. The hollow or empty spaces may be filled with heat-insulating materials (6), loose-fill materials, and lightweight or foamed concretes with a bulk-porocity structure (7) in order to achieve corresponding structural properties and to be provided with additional inner shells (10, 11) and/or outer shells (12). These elements may be used as interior and exterior walls, partition walls, intermediate floors, a ventilated roof and, with corresponding outer shell and heat insulation, as a non-ventilated roof. <IMAGE>
