PURPOSE:To provide a recording/reproducing optical disc player in which the final session can be decided at high speed by repeating jump to the outer peripheral direction after gaining access to a read out area and then shifting an optical head to next session. CONSTITUTION:A control section 7 controls a feed mechanism section 3 through a servo circuit 4 to fetch a track traversal signal and a subcode when an optical head 2 traverses a track. When the address of read out area of a session is read out at the read in area, the access is gained at high speed and one or a plurality of tracks are jumped repeatedly in the outer peripheral direction before the head 2 is shifted to the read in area of next session. Since one or a plurality of tracks are jumped repeatedly in the outer peripheral direction after the read out area is accessed, unrecorded region is protected against abnormal state where servo control is disabled and thereby the final session can be decided at high speed. |
