MULTIPATH DETECTOR USING PHASE COMPARISON OF STEREO PILOT SIGNAL

PURPOSE: To reduce the multipath distortion of a radio receiver. CONSTITUTION: A frequency modulating(FM) stereo broadcasting receiver 10 detects the start of multipath interference based on the phase variation of a received stereo pilot signal. The phase of a received pilot signal is compared with the phase of a reproduced pilot from the phase lock loop 31 of a stereo decoder 22. The degree of multipath generation is decided by phase shift detected at the time of starting multipath generation.
