PURPOSE:To provide a process for production of a dyed lens with a hard coating which is curable at a low temp., is subjected to dyeing simultaneous with a hard coat applying stage and has various excellent performances. CONSTITUTION:This process for production of the dyed lens with hard coat consists of mixing 1 to 75wt.% quadrifunctional or higher functional org. silicon compds., such as tetraethoxysilane, and 99 to 25wt.% trifunctional or lower functional org. silicon compds., such as gamma-glycidoxypropyl triethoxysilane, then hydrolyzing the mixture, producing the hard coat compsn. for plastic lenses consisting essentially of the hydrolyzate obtd. in such a manner, uniformly dispersing or dissolving pulverized org. pigment or dye, such as phthalocyanone blue, into the compsn. and applying the compsn. on the lens base plate. |
