An image-acquisition device (1) is used for acquiring an image of a palm print. The device (1) has an optically transparent body (2) whose refractive index is greater than that of the surrounding medium. The body (2) has a convex surface (3) on which the palm (11) is placed. A light source (6) emits light towards the convex surface (3) via the body (2). At least the light reflected by the convex surface (3) is acquired by an image sensor (9). <IMAGE>
