PURPOSE:To stably produce the optical disk having excellent durability by applying a silane coupling agent on the surface of a substrate, then forming a reflection film thereon or forming the reflection film on the substrate and applying the silane coupling agent thereon. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the substrate with guides of a prescribed track pitch, groove width and groove depth is spin coated with hexamethyl di-silazane which is a representative material of polysilazane. SiN dielectric layers are then successively formed by sputtering thereon and thereafter, a substrate for protection is adhered on its surface by using a UV curing type adhesive. The optical disk is produced in such a manner. The disk is subjected to a recording and reproducing test by a recording and reproducing device for evaluation mounted with such an optical pickup which has 830nm wavelength, 0.55 numerical aperture, 1.0 vignetting coefft. and 0.03lambda wave front aberration and with which the polarizing state of the laser is linearly polarized light and it direction is parallel with the guide grooves. The optical disk is then tested for 700 hours in a chamber kept at 85 deg.C and 90% humidity. Substantially no change in its bit error rate is admitted in these tests. |
