<p>PURPOSE: To economically manufacture an extraction preventing device for ignition key of an ignition switch of an automobile, having an automatic transmission or manual transmission, in such a way that the device can surely function and can be incorporated in the ignition switch. CONSTITUTION: An extraction preventing device for an ignition key operates in relation t the position of a transmission, whether the transmission is at a 'parking or restricted' position at which the transmission restricts the driving wheels of a vehicle. An electromagnetic or electromechanical inhibiting device 3 connected to a make and break contact in the transmission is attached to a shaft, which transmits the rotation of an ignition switch 2 or an ignition key, and the inhibiting projection 5 of the device 5 inhibits the turning of the ignition key to its extracting position with respect to the working position of the transmission, in cooperation with an inhibiting step section 6 on the ignition switch 2 or shaft. The device 3 contains an electromagnet 7, having a swinging armature 8 which receives spring the load and the inhibiting projection 5 at the free end of the armature 8 enters into the moving orbit of a rotor 9 from the outside, which is on the switch 2 or shaft and has the inhibiting step section 6 at an 'ignition key restricting' position.</p> |
