PURPOSE: To provide an igniter mechanism for gas generator for an automobile small in size and capable of adjusting operating conditions. CONSTITUTION: In an igniter mechanism for a gas generator 18 utilizing a pyrotechnology in an occupant restraining device for automobile, a pre-tension is applied by at least one spring 56 to either of an impact member 26 and a gas generator 22 for functioning a belt tensioning action, and the spring 56 presses the impact member against a stopper in a first direction. Also, as the result of an inertia force acting at the time of acceleration of the automobile, the spring 56 gives a reactional force to the impact member so as to move it in a second direction with a force increasing until it reaches a center position. In addition, a force converting member is provided to convert a torque generated by the spring 56 to an axial force applied to the impact member. |
