PURPOSE:To provide a method for molding a hollow product consisting of three pieces suitable for the production of a large hollow product such as the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine or a large-sized or medium- sized tank requiring internal strength. CONSTITUTION:One half hollow element A is molded in the cavity 5 constituted of the recessed part 3 of a fixed mold 1 and the female mold 22 of a slide mold 20 in primary molding and other half hollow element B is molded in the cavity 5' constituted of the recessed part 3' of a movable mold 1' and the male mold 22' of the slide mold 20 and an intermediate element T is molded in the cavity 25 constituted of the core parts 4, 4' of the fixed and movable molds 1, 1' and the through-hole part 24 of the slide mold 20. In secondary molding, the slide mold 20 is slid with respect to the fixed mold 1 or the movable mold 1' to hold the half hollow elements A, B and the intermediate element T in such a state that the bonding parts S, S', s, s' of them are brought into contact with each other and a molten resin is injected to the bonding parts S, S', s, s' to obtain a hollow product. |
