In a silo system for bulk material, which system comprises at least two identical silos with a cross section which is constant in the vertical direction, feed and discharge means for bulk material are provided, with at least one horizontal helical conveyor, by means of which it is possible both to distribute the bulk material supplied uniformly over the cross section of the silo and to discharge the stored bulk material. There is also a path which is common to the silos and along which a bridge can be displaced, from which bridge the helical conveyor is suspended, in such a manner that it can move up and down as a function of the level of the bulk material in a silo, between a position in the vicinity of the bottom of the silo in question and a position above the top side of the silo, in such a manner that, in the latter position, the bridge and helical conveyor can be displaced between the silos.
