Numbered quantities of sterilised swabs are kept in readiness for operations. In order reliably to avoid the possibility that a swab is left behind in the surgical wound, the invention envisages a package in which each swab is assigned its own receptacle. It is thus possible to determine at a glance, during the operation, whether all the swabs have been transferred back to the package. |
