Servo-valves for the control of volume flows

Servo-valves of known type for the control of volume flows require expensive precision machining of their individual parts during manufacture and, during their use, can be driven by electronic control devices, for example memory-programmable control devices, only via expensive converters. The new servo-valve consists of individual elements, such as for example conventional 2/2-way valves, which are simple to produce and can be driven by an electronic control unit via simple electromagnets. The servo-valve consists of a parallel arrangement of individual valve elements which can assume the two operational states "open" and "closed" and whose effective flow rates in the opened state are stepped in the same ratio as the digit values of binary numbers. By means of actuating the individual elements in accordance with the sequence of binary numbers, the operating state "open" of the elements corresponding to the binary number 1 and the operating state "closed" of the elements corresponding to the binary number 0, various volume flows can be set.
