Fragments of blood clotting factor IX with intact EGF and Gla domains without factor IX clotting activity, chemically unmodified and having a molecular weight between about 12,000 and 50,000 D, obtainable by proteolytic cleavage, as active ingredient with antithrombotic effect, and process for their preparation, their use for the production of pharmaceutical compositions, and these pharmaceutical compositions themselves.
