The shaker for salt, pepper or other condiments has a cylindrical body with a clip-on cap (1). The cap has a flat end (2) wall surrounded by a cylindrical wall (4). This cylindrical wall has a number of ribs (10a,10b,10c) etc. projecting radially inwards from its inner surfaces. These ribs are aligned parallel to the cap axis and are equally spaced around the cylindrical wall.The ribs co-operate with a circumferential rib on the outside of the shaker body to form a tight fit for the cap and so hold it in place and prevent the ingress of moisture
