<p>The present invention relates to novel compositions comprising Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) specific oligonucleotides which are useful as nested primers to amplify sequences of the BHV-1 gIV gene during enzymatic nucleic acid amplification. The invention also provides a method for the detection of BHV-1 which may be present in a clinical specimen, particularly bovine semen, using the BHV-1 specific nested primers and enzymatic nucleic acid amplification. The present invention also relates to a BHV-1 specific oligonucleotide which can be used as a probe to facilitate detection of amplified products derived from BHV-1 gIV gene sequences.</p> |
