In the present invention there are disclosed derivatives of 4-benzoylisoxazole of the general formula (I), in which R represents a hydrogen atom or the group -CO2R4, R1 represents alkyl, haloalkyl or optionally substituted cycloalkyl, R2 represents a halogen, optionally a halogenated alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, alkyl substituted with one or several groups -OR5, or the group being selected from a group comprising a nitro group, a cyano group, -CO2R5, -S(O)pR6, -O(CH2)imOR5, -COR5, -NR61R62, - N(R8)SO2R7, -OR5, -OSO2R7 and -(CR9R10)t-S(O)qR7, R3 represents -S(O)qR7, X represents -(CR9R10)t-, n is zero or an integer of 1 to 4, R4 represents alkyl or haloalkyl, R5 represents an optionally halogenated alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, R6, R61 and R62 that can be identical or different represent alkyl, haloalkyl or an optionally substituted phenyl, R7 represents an optionally halogenated alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, or an optionally substituted phenyl or benzyl, R8 represents hydrogen or an optionally halogenated alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, R9 and R10 that can be identical or different represent hydrogen, alkyl, haloalkyl or an optionally substituted phenyl, p is zero, 1 or 2, q is zero, 1 or 2, m is 1, 2 or 3, t is an integer of 1 to 4, or their salts acceptable in agriculture, as well as their use as herbicidal agents. In the present invention there is also claimed a process for preparing such derivatives and herbicidal agent in which they are comprised.
