PURPOSE:To obtain collinoid (a generic term of vitamin B12 as an anti-pernicious anemia factor) on an industrial scale at a low cost by culturing Clostridium thermoaceticum ATCC 31490 in absolutely anaerobic state. CONSTITUTION:Clostridium thermoaceticum ATCC 31490 is cultured in absolutely anaerobic state. The culture liquid is treated and separated into solid and liquid. The liquid is separated from the system and the objective collinoid is collected from the separated liquid. The culture medium preferably contains C, K, P, S, Mg and N as essential elements. The medium is preferably incorporated further with at least one component selected from the compounds of Co, Fe, Mo, Se, W or Ni. |
