PURPOSE:To switch voice communication and various kinds of data communication at a master machine side in accordance with peripheral equipment connected to a slave machine. CONSTITUTION:The slave machines 21 to 23 are provided with interfaces for making the peripheral equipments 41 to 43 connectable, and on the other hand, a master machine 1 is provided with a protocol judging part 16 to check and judge both the protocol information of the presence of the designation of a receiving slave machine and the classification of received data in respect of the data received from a public line 5, communication paths 31 to 33 for executing the various kinds of communication, a storage part 12a to store identification information about each slave machine and the information of the peripheral equipment connected to each slave machine, a slave machine managing part 12 which retrieves the information stored in the storage part 12a by each retreval request from a master machine communicating part 11 to manage communication with the slave machine at the time of transmission and from the protocol judging part at the time of reception, and selects a prescribed communication path, and manages a system so as to execute the communication with a prescribed slave machine, and communication path switching parts 14, 15 to execute switching to the communication path selected by the slave machine managing part 12.
