NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To improve charge and discharge cycle characteristic by filling an expanding material in the axial space part of a plate electrode group formed by spirally winding a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate using carbon material as active material through a separator. CONSTITUTION:An electrode body is formed by spirally winding the whole body of a positive electrode plate 1 having a positive electrode lead 4 of the same material as a core material and a negative electrode plate 2 having a negative electrode lead 5 through a band porous polypropylene separator 3 wider than both the electrode plates. Further, propylene insulating plates 6, 7 are arranged on the upper and lower parts of the electrode body, the electrode body is inserted into a battery jar, and a polyacryl amide which is a liquid absorbing and expanding resin is inserted as a filler 11 in the axial space part. An equal ratio volume mixed solution of propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate in which lithium perchlorate is dissolved is injected as an nonaqueous electrolyte followed by sealing with a seal plate 9 having a positive electrode terminal 10.
