The subject of the invention is an apparatus intended to maintain a clean and constant-volume atmosphere in a pneumoperitoneum. This apparatus is characterised in that it comprises a gas suction conduit (12) which emerges (30) inside the pneumoperitoneum and which is connected to suction means (16), means (18) for separating the material sucked out and retaining liquid substances (24), means (20, 22) for filtering the separated gaseous mass, and an injection (insufflation) conduit (14) through which the filtered gaseous mass is intended to flow, all the elements (12) (16) (18) (20) (22) and (14) comprising the apparatus forming a closed circuit.
